Practical advice for patients suffering from seasonal pollen allergy:

  1. Specialist’s diagnosis of pollen allergy.
  2. Medical therapy: Rhinolight medical phototherapy and/or antiallergic medicine therapy.
  3. Preventive measures:
  • Avoid outdoor activities during the bloom season (e.g. lawnmowing, hay harvest)
  • Avoid outdoor sports
  • It is recommended to wash your hair every day
  • Stay indoors in dry and windy weather
  • On these days the windows and doors of the flat and car should be kept closed
  • Use the air conditioner and pollen filter both at home and in the car.
  • Do not sleep with an open window
  • Do not dry clothes or sheets outdoors
  • Rinse nasal cavity with warm water snuffed from your palms every day
  • Symptoms can be caused by eating fruits or vegetables because they contain the same allergen (cross-reactivity)

Do’s and don’ts in case of house dust mite allergy:

  1. Specialist’s diagnosis of house dust mite allergy.
  2. Medical therapy: Rhinolight medical phototherapy and/or antiallergic medicine therapy.
  3. Preventive actions:
  • All dust-catchers (carpets, pillows, etc.) should be removed from the bedroom
  • Bedclothes should be washed weekly
  • The temperature of the flat should be kept under 20°C
  • Children's plush toys should be kept in the freezer for at least two hours, once a week, because dust mites die below -18°C
  • Wet clearing is preferred during dusting
  • If you have to vacuum, keep a wet towel in front of your nose
  • You mustn’t use feathery bedding
  • Use anti-mite bedclothes
  • You mustn’t do dust-control and junk-clearance
  • Apply dust mite killing substances and high-performance vacuum cleaners
